Better Late Than Never for The Countdown Continues

June 6 - Well, work built up and we were unable to update the blog over the last two days.  So, the countdown will have four, count them, four things we are looking forward to when we close on our new home.

Home, dream, home....
For those of you who are not following along in your textbook, we have pointed out the following:

                   30.  The Garage
                   29.  The Community
                   28.  A Backyard
                   27.  Family Space
                   26.  The Soaking Tub
                   25.  The Kitchen Cabinets

Without further adieu, we bring you the newest updates for the countdown:

The outdoor carriage lights.  Okay, so most people are probably not all that stoked about the decorative lights that hang on the sides of the garage.  After all, they really serve no other purpose than to look pretty.  Well, they are doing a darn good job of it in our opinion!  We love the antique look that they have, if you want to call it that (we do, don't judge us, bro).  We also love the way that it really establishes a look for the neighborhood.  All big bonuses for us.

The massive master closet.  Who knew that you would enjoy a closet or even think that a closet with a devoted window was cool?  Well, we do.  It is so big and will hold all of our clothes, our eye glasses, and our shoes (if you ever listened to The Jerky Boys you will get that reference).  As we stated before, it is so big that our son wants to use it as his bedroom.  Now, that's a spicy meatball!

The dishwasher.  Again, perhaps not a big deal to most.  However, we rented a home before we moved here that did not have a dishwasher.  Then, we owned a home that did not have a dishwasher.  Now, we live in a rental where the dishwasher has not worked in a number of years.  It's mechanical brain blew up or something.  So, it will be nice to get back to the days where we can rinse off the dishes and let the dishwasher do the work.  Splish splash, I was takin' a bath.

Our landing window.  It will be so nice to have that sunshine in the morning as we venture downstairs to a homemade breakfast in our new home.  Yes, we may hang something to close for privacy, but we are loving the sun for right now.  It really adds the feeling of "The best part of waking up..."  Sure, that's trademarked by Folgers, but come on, we really think that they are talking about a window in a stairwell landing.  However, they could not state that in the commercial because not everyone has a window in their stairwell landing or a stairwell landing for that matter.  Therefore, it makes good business sense to relate it to coffee, but we know what they were really talking about.  That's right, a window in a stairwell landing.

Up Next:  The countdown continues with two more things we are looking forward to in our new home.

Until then, Super Friends, always watch our for the Super Twins and why the heck do they have a pet monkey?!?!?!

  1. I feel you on the dishwasher and the closet! We rented a cheap apt. for a year and a half before we built our Venice to save up money and we didn't have a dishwasher and I had about 3ft of closet space... both of those factors caused 90% of the fights in our household I would say... lol I LOVE LOVE LOVE my dishwasher, omg it even has little holders for my wine glasses! and my closet, holy cow, I need to go SHOPPING! I barely fill up 1/5 of my side!

    1. Oh, Rachael! I saw the pictures of your old apartment. It looked like pretty tight quarters. I can imagine all of the issues it would cause with a married couple and a cat! I cannot wait to be in your shoes soon enough!
